Dinosaur Eggs, Treasure Tubes and other effortless Gift Wrap

Dinosaur Egg raw

Don’t you hate it when it’s time to wrap your carefully thought out gift to find it is more difficult to wrap than you imagined?

You can just imagine what this looked like after it had been wrapped tightly for a Kris Kringle present …

FYI it's a wooden Back Massager. What were you thinking?

FYI it’s a wooden Back Massager.                   What were you thinking?

The first question the recipient asked was  ‘Can my wife use this?’

The answer was ‘Yes’.  But because this Kris Kringle was anonymous, we all had a laugh.  Nobody, however, admitted nor confessed to buying it !

If concealing the nature of a gift causes you grief, think outside the box;  place your gift into something else repurposed by you, that not only is easy to wrap, but can be reused by the recipient.

This is a perfect wrapping for small gifts – especially for those going through a Dinosaur phase:  Remember Jurassic Park, Running with Dinosaurs, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and The Flintstones?

Insert your gift into two Roll-on Deodorant caps that you have thoroughly washed, sealed with tape  [ clear or decorative tape to suit the occasion ]

Add a round self adhesive label to use as a gift tag

Complete the look with some ribbon

Easy peasy!

How to make a Treasure Tube Treasure Tube

This is perfect for inserting Gift Vouchers, Money [ notes or coins ] or even a Treasure Map with clues as to whereto find the recipients’ Gifts

Wrap coloured paper around tube so that each end meets for a seamless join

Cut to size and apply craft glue or stick glue to the reverse side of the paper and carefully wrap it around the tube. You may need more than one layer if your paper is translucent.

If you need something a little larger try using a Pringle’s tube:
